I currently work as a field operations coordinator on large scale reforestation efforts in Colorado and Puerto Rico. Tasks always include tending to the needs of the plants and the people that plant them – there cannot be one without the other. I enjoy the slow progression of daily efforts towards an end goal. My favorite part is speaking Spanish seeking to understand and to be understood. My B.S degree in Conservation Biology from UW – Madison prepared me with a working botanical foundation, but only through hard earned work experience did I learn that the richest reward is achievement together. Tackling restoration projects with Ecoculture exercises my people skills while learning the ecological relationships in new and exciting places.
I hope to always keep on learning. I aspire for further education in conservation and to continue working on projects that have an impact on people and their environment. My hobbies these days include improving my knowledge of Spanish, surfing, and relaxing at home.
